the after shock of an icon Sarah O

by Sarah
(USA)

At first I heard he was an over the top artist. when I saw the thriller movie I was scared to death, and this is when I was 6 years old. I didn't want any part of Michael Jackson any more. At that time though he did inspire me to sing.
When I got older he sometimes scared me, but when I heard he was doing "This Is It", I was shocked. I thought to my self, isn't he like 50, but then my friend said he can still rock it at an old age. I was looking forward to the concert, so I can see it on TV, and at that time i got my self to like Michael Jackson again. He is now my idol.
When I was at the Rose Lane Boys and Girls Club, two kids came running into the teen center saying "turn on channel 12, turn on channel 12", Michael Jackson is dead. I was in the middle of playing rock band at the time when i heard the news. I came running over and every one was crowding around the couch confused on how such a great entertainer had died. I was very sad to hear that my idol was not here any more. It broke my heart.
As the days went by, I saw on the news that millions of people gathered to honor the great man. Hundreds went to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to put flowers on Michael's star, as did I put a single rose on the idol's star.
Now I work harder on my singing and dancing. We will never forget the icon, Michael Jackson.
