Michael Jacksons Movies

Michael Jacksons movies were much more fun for him than television. Michael Jacksons music videos, or short films, as he liked to call them, were created with him thinking out of the box.
Michael Jacksons movies were always filled with music and dancing.

The First movie for MJ was
"The Wiz" (1978) starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson...
This was the African American version of "The Wizard of Oz" and takes place in Harlem.
Michael was only 19 when he starred in "The Wiz".
Right before filming "The Wiz", The Jacksons had a Television show.
Michael did not like the TV show because there was not enough time to perfect their dances.
But he jumped at the chance to work with his ole friend and mentor Diana Ross.
Michael loved filming movies much better.
This was the meeting of Michael and Quincy Jones.
Quincy Jones wrote the musical score for "The Wiz". Who knew it would turn out to be a great partnership.

MoonWalker was a Movie starring Michael Jackson

is an American film released in 1988 by Michael Jackson.
"The film is a collection of short films about Jackson, several of which are long-form music videos from Jackson's Bad album. The film is named after the dance technique known as the moonwalk, which was one of his trademark moves. The name of the dance move was dubbed by the media, not by Jackson himself; however, he did choose the title of the film himself." ~Wikipedia

MJ's Music Videos

We are going to see the Evolution of Michael as a performer through his music videos.
Let's start when Michael Jackson was very young and one of the first so called videos of musicical performances was recorded on TV.
It's a Classic.

Watch the Jackson 5 "I Want You Back"

Okay now let's go back in time when Michael was a teenager and starting
a solo career.
Let's watch this performance of "Ben". It was 1972 on the Jackson 5TV show.
How sweet his voice and loving emotion wasin this song.

Performance of Ben

Let's jump 7 years into 1979. One of the first innovative music videos, "Rock with You" from the "Off the Wall" album.
This was Michael's 1st solo album that was a big success and his 1st colaberation with Quincy Jones. Michael was only 20 years old.
I just Love this video. It brings back a lot of memories for me.

Rock with You video

In 1982 "Thriller" broke all the records as a music video and an Album. This was MJ's 2nd very successful Album with Quincy Jones.I just could not leave "Thriller" out. It was the innovative short film and first black performer's music video on MTV.
Enjoy and watch 13 minutes of ....

Thriller

I guess in 1987, MJ was trying to show a "Bad" side of himself.
In this Album, Michael had such a variety of songs and Genres from
rock, pop, and soft rock. Not to mention all the different emotions he conveyed in each song.
"Bad" is my favorite Album that MJ ever recorded
With no other introduction here is

Bad

I believe on the "Bad" Album, Michael was showing different sides of himself so I am including the "Liberian Girl" video which I think is cute and "fun-loving" on Michael's part.

"Liberian Girl"

A very sensitive, loving side of Michael came out in his video of"I just can't stop loving you" with his 1st wife Lisa Marie Presley.

"I Just Can't Stop Loving You"

"Man in the Mirror" was a self reflection of Michael on himself for the issues occuring in the world.
We should all start with the man in the mirror as Michael challenged himself to do..

"Man in the Mirror"

"Dirty Diana" was as, I call, Michael's attempt at hard rock.Princess Diana seemed to really love it

"Dirty Diana"

"Leave me Alone" also from "Bad", was Michael's out cry to the press to leave Him Alone.

"Leave Me Alone"

In 1991, "Dangerous" was a little more edgy. Michael pushed many boundaries with special affects in this video.

"Remember the Time"

"black or White" also from the "Dangerous" album, was one of the 1st music videos to use "morphing". He also broke down racial boundaries.

"Black or White"

"HIStory" was almost like an autobiographical Album
This video I picked is Michael Jackson and his Classic I conic look.

"HIStory Part 1" "They Don't Care About Us"

"Invincible" was released in 2001, 6 years after "HIStory".
It is Michael's final and 10th Album. It was a rejunevation of music and very long at 80 minutes.
Here is a video from "invincible"

"You Rock My World"
"Blood on the Dance Floor"
